GRANTS AND PROJECTS
1990-1999
- 1990 – Subsidized a series of shiurim for women, conducted by Rabbi Eliezer Rubin.
- 1990 – Contributed toward Operation Exodus of the UJA to be directed to an Orthodox Jewish conduit.
- 1990 – Contributed to Ezras Achim.
- 1991 – Contributed to the JEP for the production and distribution of a pamphlet to encourage enrollment of public school students in Released Time classes.
- 1991 – Funded a Russian or Eastern European project in Israel to be overseen by Rabbi Shear Yashuv Cohen.
- 1992 – Contributed to the Mikveh Yisroel of Flatbush, Brooklyn, to provide facilities for the disabled.
- 1993 – Subsidized the book “The Jewish Guide”, a basic primer in the hows and whys of Judaism, for laymen, teachers or group leaders of JEP to be used in Released Time classes.
- 1993 – Subsidized the pamphlet “Security for Synagogues”, containing material produced by the Anti-Defamation League as well as material prepared by the OU and National Council of Young Israel.
- 1993 – Contributed toward the Hachodesh mailings of religious educational material to sisterhoods throughout the country.
- 1994 – Contributed toward the preparation of an insert for siddurim, entitled, “Come On Time, Or Ahead of Time - But, What if You Come Late”, setting forth essential religious rules applying if one comes late to synagogue.
- 1994 – Subsidized the republication of the “Kashrut Guide for Home Attendants”, prepared by the Bronx Jewish Community Council.
- 1996 – Donated to Congregation Etz Chaim upon its honoring Seth Goldstein at its annual dinner.
- 1996 – Subsidized the publishing of a pamphlet entitled, “How To Reduce Your Energy Costs”.
- 1996 – Subsidized the reprinting of the pamphlet “Security for Synagogues”.
- 1996 – Subsidized the publishing of a pamphlet, “Mikvah Idea Project”, in which people shared their positive, helpful, and creative ideas about building and maintaining mikvaot in a manner that would make them more pleasant, efficient, or meaningful to their users.
- 1996 – Subsidized the printing of labels for insertion into siddurim, designed to improve personal conduct in the synagogue based on religious guidelines.
- 1998 – Subsidized the translation of a book entitled “Guide to Kashrut”, by Rabbi Akiva Katz.
- 1998 – Subsidized the printing of a pamphlet, “How To Obtain The Benefits of Energy Conservation for Your Synagogue”, to help synagogues conserve energy and money.
- 1998 – Contributed to the Womens’ Branch of the OU toward educational projects concerning mikva and other religious topics.
